Story 15: The Baker’s Secret

The bead travels from Elyse’s hands into the warm kitchen of a baker named Matteo, who has been struggling with the loss of his wife. Every morning, he bakes bread for the community, but he no longer feels joy in it. One day, as he kneads the dough, he finds the bead hidden within the folds of a flour bag. Matteo takes it as a sign that his wife’s spirit is still with him, guiding him to find joy in his craft again. Inspired, he bakes a batch of bread shaped like hearts, sending it out to those in need. He places the bead in the crust of the very first loaf, sending it off with love and gratitude.
