The family that moves into the home Jonah built includes a mother named Maria, who has struggled to find a sense of peace after the death of her child. She has always believed that her grief was a weight she couldn’t escape, but when she discovers the bead left in the foundation of their home, she feels as though her child is still with her. She places the bead in a locket and wears it around her neck, knowing that the love of her child will always be a part of her. The bead becomes a symbol of healing and love for Maria, who begins to volunteer at the local hospital, helping grieving parents find peace.
